What is the best truck tire for gravel roads?
upnorthyukon asked:
Most of our driving is done on a haul road for mining, and it eats up tires. Does anyone have a similiar situation and have they found a good tire? Or does anyone know of a forum that specifically deals with tire questions? Thank you. The tire size is LT265/70 R17.

How do I tell if the tire’s load rating is enough for my vehicle?
orangebychoice asked:
I bought some 195/60R14 Michelin Pilots to go on my ‘67 VW bus. But I can’t figure out if the load rating on the tire is enough for my vehicle. The bus weighs between 2500+lbs and the tire rating is 1168lbs. Is this tire going to explode when I turn or stop, how can I find out what I need?

What does the number before a tire speed rating mean?
starofiniquity asked:
So my tires right now are P205/40ZR17 84W
So my tires right now are P205/40ZR17 84W
I get that it’s 205mm wide, 40% that high, Z rated, but specified as W rated and 17″ wheel. What I don’t understand is what that 84 up there means, and I see it vary from tire to tire of otherwise all the same numbers and even ratings. Anyone know what that bit is?
What tire companies make a 37 inch tire?
Brent M asked:
I’m looking for some cheap, off brand tire companies that make a 37 inch mud or all terrain tire. If it helps I need it for a 17 inch rim. Thank you.

Why does air leak out of the valve stem of a tire when taking the cap off?
. asked:
You could hear a hissing noise of air coming out of the valve stem of a tire when removing the cap covering the valve stem. It’s the same thing that happens when you press on the valve stem a certain way to release extra air when adding air to tires, except with this tire I have, the cap is taken off and air comes out automatically. What could cause this? Could it be fixed?

How do I make a popped tire look like an accident?
es skater088 asked:
I just got robbed and I’m going to pop the guy’s tire who did it. Can I insert something into the tire after I do it to make it look like he just ran something over at night then by morning it was deflated? Would this be believeable if it happened to you and it was only 1 tire… Thanks
I know this is a dick move but oh well he robbed me so I’m getting even
Sweet, so you’re saying if I did that with a nail or something you would believe that’s what happened? Keep in mind these guys rob people so idk if you can try and think how someone like that would. But still they probably wouldnt know someone popped the tire
And if I do deciede to hammer a nail into the tire, should I nail it into the tread or the sidewall? I will be popping it in the sidewall so theres no hope of repair

What’s the difference in diameter between these 2 tire sizes?
Money M asked:
What’s the difference in diameter between a 205/55/15 tire/rim combination and a 205/40/17 tire/rim combination? I want to change rims and tires on a 2005 Toyota Celica from the former to the latter and want to make sure the 17 inch rims aren’t too big. 40’s are lower profiles than 55’s so would that compensate for the larger rim?

How do you park a truck on another trucks tire?
Austin asked:
Me and my friend want to take a picture of our trucks and I really like the pictures where one truck is parked on top of another trucks tire. I’ve got a Ranger while he’s got an F150. So how do we take it with out screwing up my truck (cause I’d guess he park his on mine)?

Can someone recommend a good winter tire that can also be used in summer?
Helrazr asked:
I live in South Dakota and frequently travel to North Dakota. We often have snow for 5 months out of the year or at least its very cold. I would not like to have to change tires twice a year but have better winter performance. I would like to know if any tires that are all season perform particularly well in the winter, or if there is a winter tire that is ok to use during the summer months where we top out about 90 degrees, but don’t get alot of rain.
